Brown Dog Real Estate is a “transparent” company—there is nothing mysterious, secretive, unwritten, or unknown about our business practices. We have included everything about our company on this website and ask that you compare the kind of information we have provided with other real estate company websites.
We do not believe in the concept of “one size fits all” in the real estate market. We know that buying and selling a home is one of the largest financial decisions people make and that we are active participants in the outcome. We do not take that lightly nor do we treat it as “just another deal.” Instead, we respect the fact that our clients are individuals with specific needs and objectives and we work hard to ensure that they achieve a successful outcome.
We now invite you to explore BrownDogRealEstate.com. We hope you find all of the information we have provided interesting, helpful, and enjoyable. If you add us as a Favorite, you can use our site as a resource, which is how we designed it—for you.
We also invite you to read our blog, which we think is a great tool for passing along information about the real estate market, people’s real estate experiences, good and bad, and other fun tid-bits. Don't forget--the real state market and the needs and desires of home buyers and sellers are constantly changing.
Oh...about the name, Brown Dog. Where did that come from? We worked hard at it—we wanted something different, a name people will remember, a name that stands out, and a name that separates us from the all the other real estate companies filled with hundreds or thousands of agents. Even more importantly, we wanted a name that stands for personal, custom service.
In our opinion, Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Computer got it right. As it goes, apples are his favorite fruit and he had worked in an apple orchard. The name distanced the company from the the other cold, unapproachable computer companies at the time and supported a brand name perceived as simple, warm, human, approachable and different.
Brown Dog Real Estate evolved from many conversations regarding our desire to ensure that our name was not only unique and different, but that it could stand on its own based on the personal, superior services we provide. The idea came from our two Labrador Retrievers, Ollie (a.k.a. black dog) and Ranger (a.k.a. brown dog). The two could not be more unique and different. Ollie is the sensible one who contemplates his every move and who has never gotten in trouble a day in his life. Ranger, who came 4 years after Ollie, is the daring one who will try anything at least once, including tree limbs, leather couches, crayons and feather pillows, to name a few.

Although “unique” and “different” are not always the terms of endearment we use when describing Ranger, they certainly suit him. One thing is certain, however, they both have the undeniable traits of always being happy to see us and always wanting to please us.
Brown Dog Real Estate treats clients with the utmost respect for their time and their financial decisions. Whether you are buying a home or selling a home, we strive to make the entire process a personal, enjoyable, and successful one. We encourage you to take the time to read our website and to contact us.
We wish you only the best in your real estate endeavors. We hope you will allow us the opportunity to represent you in your home sale or purchase now or in the future.
